I tried to search for our home in the Dordogne, France, whilst on the Blog page but nothing appeared. Perhaps that’s because you may only search on the main website.

You’re correct -the search bar on the blog only searches blog items, not the site itself. In order to find a home, you need to search from the main website itself: https://www.sabbaticalhomes.com/
